There’s a much finer line between love and hate
Than between love and anything less.
If you’re feeling it with any passion at all,
It doesn’t flip without making a mess.

If you can go from loving someone to just friends,
Your love wasn’t real at all.
If you do something so bad that you can't make amends,
All that you built up will fall.

Hot mixed with cold in weather and love Makes dangerous conditions prevail.
Tears from crushed love don’t come down like the rain -
They damage and destroy like hail.

So don’t ask for friendship if you’re not a friend
It’s character-based, after all.
We become friends with people we admire and respect.
All you bring to the table is "tall."

Friendship is something that lasts through the years,
While love turns to hate overnight.
A friend is someone who won’t lie to your face.
We’re not friends if you can't act right.

Whenever you asked me if we’d still be friends
If we broke up, I always said no.
I never lied; I said I knew it would mean
That you’d done something ridiculously low.

So if you like to hang out with drunks, druggies, and cheats -
You need to stay over where you belong.
And the people who’re starting to see what you are
Actually care what is right and what’s wrong.

You’ll grasp for anything and anyone any time
So you don’t have to live with yourself.
But friend, you’re no friend, not of mine, not one bit.
And you can trot your ass straight down to hell.
